# Bonus Products (order-creation fallback)

The Global-e cartridges include fallback logic so an SFCC order can still be created when the Global-e **OrderCreate** request to SFCC fails. The fallback runs inside the **SendOrderToMerchant** request: SFCC builds a new basket from the request body and then creates the order. The basket is rebuilt by `int_globale/cartridge/models/globale/order/actions/decorators/generateBasketFromPayload.js`.

## The problem

Bonus products often depend on conditions tied to the original storefront session — for example, promotions that apply only to registered customers. When the fallback rebuilds the basket during SendOrderToMerchant (a server-to-server call in a different session), those session-specific conditions cannot be reproduced, so the original basket's bonus products may be lost.

## The solution

To recreate bonus products in the rebuilt basket, the cartridges ship a dummy SFCC promotion **`GLOBALE_BONUS_PRODUCTS`** and an SFCC customer group **`GlobaleOrderCreationFallbackScenario`**.

The fallback applies them in this order:

1. It first tries to apply the **same** SFCC promotion that was used in the original storefront session, recreating the bonus products.
2. If that promotion cannot be applied, it uses the **`GLOBALE_BONUS_PRODUCTS`** promotion to generate the bonus products in the new basket.

## Configuration

If your project uses SFCC bonus-product promotions together with Global-e, configure the following:

    Enable the SFCC customer group **`GlobaleOrderCreationFallbackScenario`** (available in the cartridge repository `metadata` folder).

    Enable the SFCC promotion **`GLOBALE_BONUS_PRODUCTS`** (available in the cartridge repository `metadata` folder).
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Configure the SFCC job **`GlobaleCouponRedemptions`** — contact **Global-e Merchant Support** for the job configuration. See [GlobaleCouponRedemptions](/globale-coupon-redemptions-sfcc).
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Enable the site preference **Enable Coupon Verification** (`geEnableCouponVerification`).

With these in place, bonus products are correctly applied to the rebuilt basket even when the original session conditions cannot be reproduced.
