# Limitations

Review these constraints during solution design. Related pricing guidance is in [Price calculation](/price-calculation-sfcc).

## Storefront Request Cache

**Fixed Price pricing is not supported when Salesforce's Storefront Request Cache is enabled.** The cache stores computed data for the duration of a storefront request, including the product price model that Fixed Price depends on.

The feature is **disabled by default**, controlled by **Salesforce** (not a Business Manager preference you can inspect), and may **only be confirmed on your instance through Salesforce Commerce Cloud support**.

**What to look for:** If you operate **fixed-price** countries and shoppers see prices that look **dynamically converted** instead of the **fixed price book** values, open a case with **Salesforce Commerce Cloud support** to ask whether Storefront Request Cache is enabled on your instance. Global-e has observed this combination on **production** instances.

## SEO: Page Meta Tag Rules

The Global-e cartridge cannot convert prices in Page Meta Tag Rules that use the Convenience Object `ProductPrice`, for example `${ProductPrice}`.

## Source Code Groups: Price Books

The Global-e cartridge does not support Price Books assigned to a Source Code Group. Use a **Promotion** with a **source code group** qualifier instead. See [Promotions](/promotions-sfcc).

## Checkout discount vouchers: percentage only

[Checkout discount vouchers](/checkout-discount-vouchers-sfcc) (for example payment-method provider discounts on checkout) work only with **percentage** discounts. Other checkout discount types are **not supported** by the Global-e service. Configure the SFCC promotion as percent-off with `geDiscountType` = `PERCENTAGE`, and configure the matching Global-e platform discount as a percentage value only.

## SFCC OMS: Order Status Update

When using SFCC OMS, it is not possible to update the order's status in SFCC once the order is exported to OMS.

In such cases, use **Global-e custom statuses** instead of SFCC system statuses.

Manage Global-e custom status updates on the SFCC side in one of these ways:

1. **Hook handler** — implement a handler for `globale.onAfterStatusUpdate`. See [Hooks → globale.onAfterStatusUpdate](/hooks-sfcc#globaleonafterstatusupdate).
2. **SFCC job** — extract values from the order custom attribute `geReceivedOrderStatusUpdates` and process stored status updates. See [Metadata](/metadata-sfcc).

If your project uses SFCC OMS, notify **Global-e Merchant Support** and discuss required changes before go-live.
