Data Collection by Global-e
Global-e collects user data to optimize the localized shopping experience and to provide Merchants with actionable insights. This data includes both technical and transactional information.
This applies to all integrations except Shopify Native.
Data collected can include the following:
Device ID: A unique identifier generated to recognize the shopper and their session.
Cart Token: A token that represents the checkout initiated by the shopper.
Order ID: An identifier of the order once created.
Encrypted IP Address: An encrypted version of the shopper's IP address, used for geolocation and security purposes.
User-Agent: Information about the shopper’s browser and device to optimize the shopping experience.
Shipping Country: The country selected for the shipment of the order.
Language Settings: The shopper's preferred language for interacting with the website.
Shopping Checkout Product and Shipping Data: Basic details about items added to the checkout and order progression together with the shipping options calculated in the checkout.
This data allows Merchants to track and analyze user interactions with the website, ensure a smooth checkout process, and support Merchants in making data-driven decisions.

Data Retention
The following data retention applies:
Cookies: Data stored in cookies may persist for varying lengths of time.
Session Storage: Data stored in session storage is cleared when the browser session ends.
Local Storage: Data stored in local storage remains until updated by Global-e scripts.
